Kent County ShowPosted by Katie Eagleton - founder of Chums4Pets

Wow, What a Week!  First I fall over and break by hand followed by 3 days at the Kent County Show meeting so many people and chatting about this community service.  I came away even more enthusiatic about the service and knowing that there really is a need and a want for such a facility!  People in Sussex and Surrey were actively encouraging me to branch out to their counties already but I really want this working smoothly in Kent first so please continue with your support to make this work as smoothly as possible.

Bailey was an absolute superstar and wagged his tail and body endlessly to meet kids, adults and pets endlessly throughout the days.  He even had a little shock when he came face to face with a reindeer!  Who know what he thought of them

A newsletter will following later in the week when I have recovered from the tiredness of the weekend and, at the moment, my children are loving their quieter mum who now has a husky voice from chatting endlessly to so many people.

The numbers are gradually increasing on the site following the Show and I would urge you all to upload a picture of yourself, if you have not done so already and some of your pets too  as we all like to know who we are messaging through the Chums4Pets website.  If any of you love Donkeys, rumour has it that there may be some donkeys added to the site soon who could benefit from some extra TLC.

Personally I would use the website to:
  1. "plan for the expected help" you need as pet owners, ie holiday, daily care due to the working and family commitments, especially with the school holidays rapidly approaching.
  2. "plan for the unexpected help" you may need at short notice by having established a relationship with a trusted Chum to call on in times of need, ie illness or accidents (like me with my broken hand limiting my activities).
Personally I love Chums as they are offering help as they love being around animals, not because it is a business to them.  They genuinely want to build up a rapport with Owners and Pets alike.
